Williams Fire Department, Mercy Flights, Josephine County Sheriffs, Oregon State Police, Oregon Department of Forestry, Local Veterans, and more participated with the community in Williams Elementary School's 2018 Jogathon - A Tribute to Heroes

William's Fire, the Red Cross, and Rogue Community College's Alpha Zeta Pi Honor Society gathered at Pacifica for Mother's Day 2018 to recruit volunteers before fire season.  We handed out information about fire safety and Chris Granville of the Red Cross gave out smoke detectors with free installation.  Rogue Community College provided the brochures and a representative to promote their fire science program.
In April 2018, Williams Fire helped organize and participated in Madrona Elementary School's Jogathon.  The children had the opportunity to scoot across the fire engine seat and view the apparatus up close.  Personnel from Williams Fire and Williams Fire Support Group were in attendance with Search and Rescue, Rural Metro Fire, Grants Pass Public Safety, and Sheriff Dave Daniels.  A great event for the children!
Williams Elementary School welcomed Williams Fire and Rescue to come and go over fire safety with the children, then giving them a fun tour of the fire engine during their Popcorn Friday event.  Soon after, on the last day of school, the kids experienced a fun-filled day hosted by the elementary school, with Williams Fire Support Group members helping, Williams Fire participated in games and activities to kick summer off for the kids.
